Homework
Home reading
Home reading is very important. Your child has a Reading Corridor book which they must take home everyday.
Please ensure you sit with your child as much as possible to listen to them read and sign their Home Reading Record!
Children must try and read everyday. Children need to read for 20 minutes or more then parents can ask questions about the book to check for understanding.
Use these websites to help your child with reading. There are lots of e-books, and even a parents' section. If your child uses this at home, write it in their reading record.
ReadTheory | Free Reading Comprehension Practice for Students and Teachers
Some children also have a Reading Eggs account, which they can access at home.
Education City
Each week two pieces of homework will be set on Education City. One will concentrate on English and the other will be maths. These must be completed before the deadline. Teachers will be able to check whether they have accessed this activity so please encourage your child to complete them.
Spellings
Children will also be given weekly spellings. Spellings must be learnt thoroughly at home ready for a test the following week.
TTRS
Children are also expected to visit their Times Table Rock Stars accounts.
CGP
Your child has been given two CGP books to complete as homework. Your child's class teacher will normally set a workout from each book to be completed once a week. Please take out the answers from the back of the book and keep in a safe place to use when assisting your child with their homework.
