Being a Historian at AJS

As young historians we are aware of the importance of different historical events and how they influenced how we live today. 

We know the importance of historical based enquiry and being critical thinkers by not believing everything we see or read.

At AJS we enjoy visits to places and having visitors into school who make the subject come alive.  We are proud of our area’s heritage and we enjoy looking at how it has changed over time. 

Looking at the legacy left by the Egyptians, Romans, Vikings, Saxons and Ancient Greeks helps us to see the importance of different civilisations through time and how empires have risen and then fallen.  

When we leave in Year Six, we want to be curious, independent thinkers, who understand the important lessons we can learn from the past.
