Alessandro Volta
Alessandro was born on 18th February 1745. He lived in Como, Italy until his death on 5th March 1827. He invented the first battery. His name 'Volt' is the word used to measure electricity.
Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison was born on 11th February, 1847. He lived in Ohio and New Jersey, USA. His discoveries led to the invention of radios, televisions and computers. He went on to invent many more electrical devices that we use today.

Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin was a British scientist born on 12th February, 1809. He created a theory to explain how humans have changed over the years called the 'Natural Selection'. His work explored how different species of life have evolved (changed) over time. His work was recorded into a number of books which have been read around the world.
