How spelling is taught at AJS

At our school, we use Spelling Shed to support the teaching and learning of spelling across all year groups. Spelling Shed provides engaging and interactive activities that help children practise and embed key spelling patterns and statutory word lists in a fun and motivating way. Weekly spelling assignments are set by teachers and can be accessed both in school and at home, encouraging regular practise and independent learning. The platform allows teachers to monitor progress, identify areas for development, and provide targeted support where needed. Through games, challenges, and repetition, Spelling Shed helps our pupils develop confidence and accuracy in their spelling while fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
