AJS Loves to Read

“Literature is a curator of our imaginations, and schools are the caretakers of our young people’s education."

Bernardine Evaristo, author.

Reading is a priority at Audley Junior School.

All AJS pupils will be given the opportunity to be fluent, confident readers who develop a love of reading.

They will have access to a range of authors and texts and are given the opportunity to understand more about the rich diversity of the society we live in.

World Book Day 2022

World Book Day at Audley Junior School - 3rd March 2022.

AJS Library Grand Opening!

Welcome to our newly refurbished library! We are very proud of the end result. The new library was officially re-opened on Monday 8th November 2021.

Celebrating Diversity in our School Library!

AJS is celebrating diversity in our school library using recommendations from Penguin's Lit in Colour booklist.  The children love choosing books from this lovely display.

Drop Everything and Read

Every day, we drop everything and read for at least 15 minutes.  We just love this daily story time where our teachers read our class novel to us! It usually takes place at the end of the day.  Books are decided upon as a class but our teachers recommend their favourites too!

Our Author in Residence - Mrs. Naylor

AJS is lucky enough to have an author in residence - Mrs Naylor (3N). Mrs Naylor's first children's book, Memoirs of Faeries was published in 2019 and the second instalment of the trilogy is due to be published later this year.

in 2019, AJS held a book signing for Mrs. Naylor's children's book, Memoirs of Faeries.

Raising money to replenish our class libraries!

At AJS, we love to dress up and raise money to buy new books for our class libraries! We choose new books by our favourite authors and we also like to 'branch out' and try different authors that we like the look of!
