Asthma in School

Asthma is the most common long-term medical condition in children in the UK, with around one in 11 children and young people living with asthma.  This means that, in an average class of 30 pupils, 2 or 3 of the class are likely to have asthma.

Asthma is a long-term condition but can often be seen as a mild disease and research shows that it is often not taken seriously enough.

At AJS, we take the health of our pupils very seriously and, in an effort to do this, we have been working towards becoming an Asthma Friendly School. This has several aspects, one of which is staff and pupil training on asthma and what to do in the event of someone having an asthma attack.

Asthma Training

The link below will take you to the Education for Health website where they provide Tier 1 training for adults. If you choose to engage in this training, please let school know when you have completed it, via the office email, so that we can celebrate the number of people in our school family that are supporting us in this endeavour.
